1. What this is today
Pixel Roam is a hand-made pixel-art collection and an experimental game prototype built around it. What you are using right now is a preview build: an early, incomplete version we published so the idea can be played with and talked about while it is still taking shape.
Features marked "not open yet" are things we would like to build, not commitments. Features that do work today may be reworked or removed as we learn what is actually fun.
2. Where we hope to take it
The idea we are chasing is simple: the artwork should matter. Not wallpaper you scroll past, but scenes you send out, look closely at, and come to know. Routes, ranks, streaks and scouting are all early attempts at that: ways to give a picture a reason to be looked at twice.
Over time we would like that to grow into a fuller game around the collection. That is our intention and the direction we are working in. An intention is not a promise. Development may slow, change course, or stop. We are not offering a timeline, and please do not read one into anything here.
3. How scoring works right now
Points, ranks, streaks and contracts are a scoreboard held in your own browser. They are there to make the prototype fun to poke at. To be completely clear about what they are not:
- they are stored only in your browser's local storage;
- they are not a currency, token, coin, credit, security, or property;
- they are not redeemable, exchangeable, transferable, or refundable;
- they can be edited by anyone who opens the developer console;
- they may be reset or deleted at any time, whether by clearing your browser data, by a change we make, or simply by a bug.
Because the numbers are worked out on your own machine, they cannot serve as a trustworthy record of anything. Please do not treat a score in this preview as a claim on any future reward, allocation, airdrop, whitelist place, or benefit. If a later version ever awards something, it will have to be based on data we can actually verify, and this preview does not produce that.
4. About what the front page says
Two things are stated at the top of the site, and we want to be precise about what each one means.
"There will be no token launch." We mean that plainly. We are not planning a token, a coin, or a sale of one, and this site will never ask you to buy anything.
"All the points you earn will be used for future rewards." That is our sincere intention, and it is why we are keeping score at all. Two honest caveats sit alongside it. First, what form a reward takes is not decided yet, so nothing specific is being offered. Second, the scores this preview keeps live on your own machine and can be edited, so they are not a record we could verify or honour on their own; when the time comes, any reward will be worked out from data we can actually stand behind. Please read the front page as a statement of how we intend to treat early players, not as a contract, and please do not spend money on the strength of it.
4. Nothing here is an offer or advice
Nothing on this site is financial, investment, legal or tax advice, and nothing here is an offer to sell, or an invitation to buy, any token, security, or financial instrument. No profit, yield, return or rise in value is promised, projected, or implied by anything on this site, including the words "earn", "reward", "claim" and "points", which are used here in their ordinary game sense.
If there is ever a mint or a sale, it will be announced separately with its own terms. Nothing you do in this preview reserves a place in it or entitles you to anything.
5. No wallet, no chain, nothing to sign
This preview does not connect a wallet, request a signature, read your balances, or broadcast any transaction. It never will ask you for a seed phrase, private key, or password. Anyone who does is not us. Please treat any message, site, or account claiming otherwise as a scam, and check the address bar before connecting anything, anywhere.
6. Provided as-is
This preview is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of it, including lost progress, lost data, lost time, or decisions made on the basis of anything shown here.
Please use it at your own risk, for entertainment, and for nothing else.
7. Artwork and references
The artwork is original pixel art. Some scenes are affectionate visual homages to characters, works and settings created by other people. Those are references made out of fondness, not claims of ownership, endorsement, affiliation, partnership, or authorisation. All third-party names, characters and marks remain the property of their respective owners. If you hold rights to something referenced here and would like it changed or removed, please get in touch and we will act on it.
8. These terms may change
As the project changes, this page will too. The version in force is the one published here, with the date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated version. We will flag material changes on the site itself rather than burying them here.
9. Talk to us
Questions, corrections, rights concerns, or just thoughts on the build: [add your contact address]. Feedback on what is fun and what is not is genuinely useful to us, and it is a large part of why this is public this early.
